Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Taupe Review

How are you all doing? I hope you all enjoyed the Ganapati celebrations. Now, Navaratri will be here super soon. It’s all about getting ready during navratri and diwali that I enjoy a lot. Coming to today’s pick, it is a lip colour from Lakme. This range is pretty famous for its affordable price as well as its amazing quality and the shade range. I picked this up long ago and seriously do not know why I picked this shade, may be I forgot to swatch it. Let’s see how this shade worked for me.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Taupe:
I seriously do not know the reason why I picked this colour, but I did unfortunately. This one has the old packaging. It comes in a round slim packaging in copper bronze shade. It is very handy and great to carry in the purse for touch-ups. The twisty thing at the bottom works very nicely. The shade range available is also huge with pinks, oranges, browns and what not! This particular shade is on the darker side and gives a mature look.
It doesn’t look great on ladies below 40, more suitable for elderly women. The shade is grayish brown with a burnt black kind of a shade. Genuinely speaking, my lips are quite healthy and pink; but when I apply this lipstick on, it makes my lips look dark and dull. It just covers all the pink and makes my lips look old. It sucks out all the glow from my lips. The consistency is very creamy no doubt and has a very smooth finish, but I am disappointed with the color. Who wants dull looking lips?
It stays for around 4-5 hours and then fades away. The color does not go away even when you have water or food, it stays right in the place. The fragrance is nice as well and pleasant. It is completely matte with absolutely no shine at all. I think a gloss can make it look a little better. I have other shades from this range and they are absolutely gorgeous, but a big no-no to this color. Skip this totally!

- Smooth and creamy texture.
- It’s a very mature shade and suitable for ladies above 40.
Cons of Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Taupe:
- It’s a dark shade.
- Covers up my pink lips and makes them look dull and old.
- Not a pretty shade.
- Has to be swiped 4-5 times for the color to show.
Would I Repurchase Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Taupe?
God no! Never would I get such a shade and never would want you guys to get this one. It is such a bad shade!

Conclusion:
Although the range is amazing with beautiful shades, this has been a total turn-off! Will be getting my hands on some other bright and summery shades.
