I’m back with one of the many Coloressence Mesmerising Lipsticks that I own. This time the shade is called “Basic Brown”.

Product Description:
A unique combination of coriander and basil extract. This lip color nourishes, protects, moisturizes and is hypoallergenic. Voluminise the lips.
Ingredients:
The only ingredients mentioned anywhere is Almond Oil, Vitamin E, Coriander Extract and Basil Extract.
My Experience with Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color – Basic Brown:
The lipstick comes in a black and silver case, pretty neat. The case is very sturdy and the cap fits on to the case with a click. The cap will come off only when pulled off the case, so, it can be carried safely in bag, thereby making it travel friendly.
I own a lot of Coloressence lipsticks and I know some of them can be a tad dry. But not this one. This shade is creamier than a lot of the other shades. Now it’s not really moisturizing but is not dry either. It glides easily on the lips and one swipe is enough for the colour to show.
The colour is a burnt umber, both in the bullet as well on lips. Wearing a lot of lip balm may soften the colour to a brownish nude. Applying another coat will, however darken the shade again to burnt umber. The pigmentation of this shade is pretty good. This is a shade which can be worn to work without giving a second thought. This particular shade would be advisable to the fairer and medium complexioned women, be they either warm toned or cool toned. The darker beauties might want to skip this shade.
The staying power of the lipstick is around three hours with no food and drink intake, which is fairly decent for anything under the two hundred mark. By the end of three hours, if not reapplied it wears off leaving behind a stain, which does not look bad at all. It does not bleed out of the lips, even with no lip liner on to guide its territories. But the lipstick transfers easily. Eating or drinking with this on would be a bad idea if you cannot touch up. The lipstick promises to voluminise (is that even a word?) the lips. If it means making the lips appear a bit plumper then I’d have to say its balderdash. But still, it’s a pretty decent lipstick and women on budget with a liking for browns might want to try this one.

• Nice black case that won’t open in bag.
• Great pigmentation.
• Staying power is good.
• Not as dry as some of its other shades.
Cons of Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color- Basic Brown:
• The formula is not moisturizing.
• Transfers easy.
• Not as creamy as I would have liked .

Will I Repurchase Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color- Basic Brown:
Maybe I will. Maybe not. Now that I’ve started wearing lipsticks regularly, I think I should start investing in better quality products. But that is not to say that this one’s in any way an inferior quality. I’ve used it for quite some time and like it.
