MAC Viva Glam III Review

I am pretty excited to own my first MAC lipstick and hence thought of reviewing it. As some of you might know, I was hunting for a slightly darker shade from brown family which would not look too gothic but lift and brighten the face without looking over the top. This is not exactly brown, but I am happy with what I got. Power of MAC maybe

My Take on MAC Viva Glam III:
It is my first love from MAC and suits me really the way I wanted it. Dark but not in an aunty way, if you know what I mean ;) The packaging is glam like all MAC Viva Glam range and I like it!
Viva Glam III is a soft, muted, matte finish lipstick that is moisturizing. Since it is a matte finish, the color of this lipstick is pretty pigmented and gives a beautiful finish in just one swipe. I would describe the color as a nice pink-based brown with plum undertones. It comes on as a nice brown as you apply and wears off leaving behind plum effect. The color is buildable and either ways – single swipe or multiple; is a flattering shade.
This lipstick is neither very creamy nor very drying, perfect matte it is. My lips feel considerably softer and moisturized every time I apply this lipstick.
The staying power of this lipstick is pretty good. It stays for around 6 hours. It also survives a meal leaving behind a nice plum trail. It fades as a beautiful brownish plum stain.
Pros of MAC Viva Glam III:
- Beautiful muted foxy brown-plum shade in a matte finish that makes it a very wearable and yet bold color.
- Quite moisturizing as far as matte lipsticks go.
- Doesn’t settle in the fine lines and does not feather.
- Benefits from this lipstick supports people suffering from AIDS.
Cons of MAC Viva Glam III:
- It might be slightly drying for some.
Verdict on MAC Viva Glam III:
If you are looking for a unique shade of brown with plum undertones, this would the best shade! Plus it dual ability to be used as a muted day wear or dark and bold evening wear, surely makes it a winner in glam range.
